The Curtain Rises...

Walnut High School of the Arts is a unique Pathways to A Career in the Arts Program under the umbrella of Walnut High School, a public school in the Walnut Valley Unified School District located in Walnut, California.  This program provides crucial guidance, artistic mentorship and opportunities for creative expression all designed to assist in developing the skills and artistic growth needed to move into the next career phase, either as a university or art school student or in professional creative, artistic endeavors. We are proud of our nationally recognized Dance Program, our GRAMMY Signature School Music Program, award-winning Dramatic and Visual Arts Program. Our School of the Arts graduates earn their way into many of the most prestigious Universities and Colleges in the nation.  Many of them have gone on to achieve successful careers.

The First Step...

The first step is to arrange an audition or interview with one of our Staff members.  Our individual courses are open to all students at Walnut High School however entrance to the official School of the Arts Program is based upon student artistic achievement, leadership and commitment.

A Canvas for The Future

Walnut High School of the Arts works closely with outstanding college & university professors, visiting artists, professional performers, composers, conductors and private tutors to build strong ties to many of the leading universities in the nation to best prepare our program graduates for acceptance into their institutions.  By combining our SOTA Pathways Program with selected AP and/or IB courses, our program graduates may be able to earn transferable college credit which may provide additional opportunities in college. Often this additional credit can be counted as elective course units thereby allowing for a Double Major. SOTA students may have  opportunities to enhance their chances for scholarships as well.
